Greg Pease is an associate at Sherrard & Roe and a member of the Firm’s corporate practice group. Mr. Pease practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities and general corporate law. His experience includes representing public and private companies in operational matters, acquisitions and divestitures, corporate governance matters, private placements and joint ventures. Mr. Pease’s public company experience includes advising clients regarding periodic reporting required by the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Mr. Pease received his J.D. cum laude in 2004 from the University of Memphis, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Memphis Law Review and was one of two recipients of the Dean’s Distinguished Graduate Award for the Class of 2004. A member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Delta Phi, Mr. Pease was the recipient of the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, the Cecil C. Humphreys Law Fellowship, and the CALI Award and Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence for Contracts II and Securities Regulation. Mr. Pease authored “Bluer Skies in Tennessee - The Recent Broadening of the Definition of Investment Contract as a Security and an Argument for a Unified Federal-State Definition of Investment Contract,” University of Memphis Law Review (2004). Prior to attending law school, Mr. Pease held management positions with Leggett & Platt, Inc., a diversified manufacturing company. Mr. Pease received his M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1999 and received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 1992. Mr. Pease’s community involvement includes serving as a member of the Sennet Society Steering Committee for the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and also as a member of Leadership Health Care. Additionally, he is past president of the University of Memphis - Nashville Law Alumni Club. Mr. Pease is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, American Bar Association and American Health Lawyers Association.
