John Voigt is a member of Sherrard & Roe and heads the Firm's health care practice. Mr. Voigt's practice covers the areas of corporations and partnership law, including mergers and acquisitions, private finance, and health care law, with his primary concentration being representation of health care providers and their related organizations.
Mr. Voigt is a graduate of Emory University School of Law where he served as Managing Editor of the Emory Law Review. Prior to attending Emory, Mr. Voigt received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Wharton, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Mr. Voigt received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton College.
Mr. Voigt served as the Co-Chairman of the Tennessee Bar Association's Health Law Forum from 1990 through 1997 and as its Chairman in 2005. He is a member of the Executive Council of the Health Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association and was the Program Chairman for the Tennessee Bar Association's 2004 Health Law Primer. He serves as a Director and Treasurer of Friends in General, the support foundation for Metro Nashville General Hospital.
Mr. Voigt is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations and the State Bar of Georgia and is a member of the health law sections of each. Mr. Voigt is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Telemedicine Association. He is a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation and is a former Director of the Nashville Health Care Council.
