Mike Roberts joined Sherrard & Roe in 1993 upon graduation from law school and became a member in 1999.  Mike has broad legal experience in a variety of business transactions, including:

• representing borrowers and lenders in connection with commercial loans provided by financial institutions,
• representing investors and issuers in connection with subordinated, mezzanine loans and equity investments provided by private equity firms, and
• representing purchasers and sellers in the acquisition and disposition of private companies.

Mike was born in Asheville, North Carolina, and spent most of his childhood in Bristol, Tennessee.  He earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1989, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi and was named the Outstanding Senior in the College of Engineering.  In 1993, he received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School where he was a member of Order of the Coif.

Mike’s leisure activities include travel, participating in triathlons, fly fishing and skiing.
