Mark Carver
Direct (615) 742-4558 Fax (615) 742-4539 Mark Carver, a member of Sherrard & Roe, practices primarily in the areas of real estate, finance, and corporate law. Mr. Carver regularly works on real estate matters such as acquisitions and dispositions, development, leasing, zoning, title insurance and financing. Mr. Carver also frequently represents both borrowers and lenders on loan transactions, including serving as Tennessee counsel on many multi-state deals. He regularly represents bank trust departments on real estate matters. His practice also involves providing general business advice on corporate matters, qualifying and forming business entities and addressing environmental issues related to transactions. Mr. Carver received his law degree from the University of Virginia and his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee. He served as Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Nashville Bar Association in 1998. Mr. Carver is the Co-Author with Scott W. Fielding of eight chapters on real estate law in the West Group Tennessee Practice Series.
Recent engagements include the following: Represent Market Land Company, the owner of twenty-five retail shopping centers. Mr. Carver recently represented Market Land Company affiliates on the simultaneous closing of five real estate loans with a securitized lender and three related defeasance transactions. Along with Mike Roberts, represented the owner of a regional medical waste disposal company in the sale of his business to a publicly traded corporation. Represent Crosland, a privately held real estate developer based in Charlotte, North Carolina, on numerous real estate and finance transactions in Nashville. Mr. Carver is representing Crosland in connection with the acquisition, construction, development and financing of the Terrazzo multi-use tower which will contain approximately 116 residential condominium units, 20,000 square feet of retail space, and approximately 77,000 square feet of office space. Mr. Carver is active in the community, currently serving on the Board of Gilda’s Club Nashville. In the past, he has served on the Boards of several organizations, including Greenways For Nashville, Metropolitan Greenways Commission, Hospital Hospitality House, and YMCA Urban Services.
