Andrée Blumstein

Her general business and civil practice emphasizes the substantive areas of health law, antitrust, transnational law, employment law, distribution law, and state and local tax law. Mrs. Blumstein is experienced in civil appellate litigation as well as contract negotiation and drafting. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, The Best Lawyers in Nashville, and Nashville Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar”. She graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1981 and was elected to membership in the Order of the Coif. She was a member and editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. Mrs. Blumstein also holds a Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literature from Yale University. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Vassar College. Mrs. Blumstein is a member of the National Health Lawyers Association and a Master in and Vice President of the American Inns of Court, Harry Phillips Inn. An active participant in the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations, she currently chairs the Editorial Board of the Tennessee Bar Journal, and has chaired the Williams Group of the NBA Colleagues Program (ethics and mentoring) from 1994-96 and the NBA Appellate Practice Committee in 1992, 1997 and 1999. From 1995-97 she was president of the Federal Bar Association of Middle Tennessee. She is a member of the Nashville Bar Foundation and Secretary of the Tennessee Supreme Court Historical Society. Mrs. Blumstein is a frequent lecturer and author on various health care, antitrust, state and local tax, and civil procedure topics. She is also active in various community and civic organizations.
